Leadership is rarely about the title on the door. It is about who you become under pressure — the conversation you keep not having, the strength that used to carry you and has quietly started to cost you, the feeling that something is off before you can name what.

We have sat with a lot of leaders in exactly that place. It is not a failure of effort. Most of the leaders we work with are trying very hard. It is that effort alone that has stopped being the thing that moves the needle.
