Sometimes a working relationship does not blow up. It just quietly stops producing what it used to. The collaboration thins. The trust leaks. There is no single fight to point to — but everyone involved can feel the absence of what used to be there.
This pattern often responds well to being seen clearly, because each person is usually carrying a different story about what happened — and neither story is the whole of it.
The work does not promise to restore exactly what was. It offers two honest possibilities: something more durable than what you had, or a clear-eyed acknowledgement that what you had has run its course. Both of those are better than the slow leak.
“If you want to go far, go together.”
— African proverb
